However the program currently being used (Hypack) does not have that option. With the previous program we used, we were able to export the data to an SOE format (Station Offset Elevation), which essentially flattens the survey data to a straight line at each station on the alignment, giving the desired long triangles. ![]() ![]() ![]() Because of the spacing and amount of data, the triangulation pretty much needs to be the opposite of a good surface survey and form only long thin triangles between survey lines (lower part). This causes many flat 'facets' in the resulting surface (upper part). I have always had a problem with bringing in the data in an XYZ format, as the triangulation will often triangulate across the curve of a single survey line, see attached JPG.
